Demoscan Geneva 2021

CIR Geneva ‘Demoscan’: A minipublic of twenty-one participants adopting the CIR model from the US held in the canton of Geneva on two weekends in September 2021 on a popular cantonal initiative on abolishing the pensions of cantonal executive politicians, initiated in the wake of a potentially fraudulent case of a member of the cantonal executive accepting foreign advantage. Again, all eligible cantonal voters received a summary statement before the vote created by the citizens’ jury. The initiative’s topic was not mentioned as part of the invitation letter at that time as it was not known which initiatives would be chosen for the next vote.
